jasper110
Hi, i'm told that it is quite common to mount salomon bindings on top of the NIS plate that seem to be fitted to a lot of skis.can anyone comment on this and post a picture of how it looks?also if having to choose a salomon classic binding, would profil be more robust than pilot? many thanks. jola61
Hi jasper110! I works great to mount a profil binding on top of the NIS plate. I would not recommend the pilot binding in classic skiing. The skate pilot works excellent.
Finn
If you mount the new classic pilot bidning then you have to remember that already the NIS plate makes the center of the ski stiffer. The Classic pilot is doing the same and that easily generates a situation where the ski does not work in an optimal way anymore (you get problems to find a good grip as flex in the center of the ski is lost). I had to switch back to the old salomon in order to get the ski to work the way I wanted.
Frazzi
Buy skis without NIS plate if you´re mounting the new salomon classic pilot or put a salomon adapter plate between the NIS plate and the binding.http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_a87otP5uFXA/SvDyYU9HIHI/AAAAAAAAAXg/zjumrFAmBvM/s400/Salomon01.JPGhttp://3.bp.blogspot.com/_a87otP5uFXA/SvD70rCqKNI/AAAAAAAAAXo/UALpzINsALo/s400/Salomon02.JPGBildkälla: http://addtheinches.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-11-06T23%3A11%3A00-07%3A00&max-results=
Smorgos
Ska köpa ett par Fischer men kör med Salomon skor, är det då alltså bättre att välja den gamla Salomon-bindningen om skidan har NIS-platta?
jasper110
many thanks to all. as i live in the UK, buying skis is difficult as we don't have many retailers. those skis that i can get have the NIS plate and don't come without it. where can i get the salomon adapter plate? it seems to be very secret. i'll stick with profil bindings (classic). Finn
