NordicFury
Hello, Does anyone have experience with START classic rollerski?I know it is not best one, but it is cheap for me to get. Any comment on START classic rollerski?Same company which make the grip tape. http://www.startex.fi/product.php?prod=184 The version that is available to me is actually older version I think.Looks very similar to Ski Skett Nord Classic construction. Do you think it is same thing with different label? http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/8721/std50.gif - Also, do rollerskis use the same size bearing that rollerblades use?So, I could experiment with faster bearings from rollerblades?(In the non-ratchet wheel) Thank you very much! Frazzi
The version that is available to me is actually older version I think.Looks very similar to Ski Skett Nord Classic construction. Do you think it is same thing with different label?Yes, that is Ski Skett Nord CL with a START sticker on the side. I have the exact same model, only white instead of purple. I bought mine really cheap (about 20 € !) on an out-sale a few years ago. I also thought it was a START roller ski at first, but later I discovered it was a Ski Skett. I have not skied with them so much, but I think they are good roller skis. Have not had any problems with them. You can also buy spare-parts to Ski Skett from here: http://www.skiskett.com/demowebshop/english/store/comersus_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=33http://www.skiskett.com/demowebshop/data/catalog/224A.jpghttp://www.skiskett.com/demowebshop/english/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=
NordicFury
Thank you Frazzi. 20 € a good deal! Unfortunately, the START classic ski on sale may have been sold. Will verify with the shop tomorrow. If it has been sold, I will go with "Eagle Sport Road Trainer Classic".Their older model, before the Classic XT. ** Do you know how long a pair of rubber wheels usually lasts? (approximately)A season or two? I will probably use them every other day when I walk the dog. Thank you.
